Travel: Bahamas

If you guys follow my Instagram, you probably already know that I love to travel.  I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the New Year and decided to go to the Bahamas!  The weather here in Washington, DC has been so unpredictable and incredibly cold.  The soft white sand, turquoise water and warm sun was exactly what I looked forward to.

I stayed with my awesome friend Philece and we were basically beach bums the entire time I was there.  Oh wait, I almost forgot!  I was totally daydreaming about laying on the beach again.  We went on powerboat adventure! It was a day trip and we visited two islands in the Exuma cays. The first stop was Allan’s Cay, where we fed the endangered Bahamian Dragon’s breakfast which consisted of red grapes.  After that we pulled into the private island paradise, Ship Channel Cay. The island is only two miles long with the most spectacular views I have ever seen!  We got a chance to touch some stingrays and watched the handlers feed the sharks.  Finally, we dined on some delicious Bahamian cuisine like my favorite conch salad and fruity drinks.  The day was perfect.  This entire vacay was perfect.  It was exactly what I needed to recharge and inspire me to keep pushing forward.

xo,

Mel
