Wash Yo Rizos Day! Jane Carter Solution Product Review

I was awarded the opportunity to try out the Jane Carter Solution Natural & Curly Hair Care Essential Kit!  I was eager to test these new products out because I have heard such great things about them and I have never used the products.   So here we go! Below is 8 days dirty pelo.  Check out the process below…

PRODUCTS USED

Process Time: 3 hours and 12 mins

Products (l to r):  Jane Carter Solution hydrating invigorating shampoo (SLS- Free), nutrient replenishing conditioner, revitalizing leave-in conditioner, nourish & shine, curl defining cream

Wash: 1X with Jane Carter Solution hydrating invigorating shampoo (SLS- Free)

Condition/Detangle:  Mixed Jane Carter Solution nutrient replenishing conditioner and revitalizing leave-in conditioner.  Finger combed hair from ends to root.

Steam/Deep condition: (for 20 minutes) Used my Huetiful steamer.  Applied Nubian Heritage Indian Hemp & Tamanu Grow & Strengthen Treatment Masque (not pictured).  Rinsed with cold water.

Style: Coated hair with Jane Carter Solution curl defining cream and then applied a small amount of Ecostyler styling gel (not pictured).

Diffused hair for 15 minutes on low heat.

Seal: Jane Carter Solution nourish & shine.  I worked the product evenly to the ends of my hair especially the dry patch of hair in the back of my head.

VERDICT:  Thumbs Up!

I will definitely use them again.  The shampoo was definitely invigorating – I loved the peppermint tingle and the conditioner left my hair satin-soft. The light citrusy scent was also a plus.  The notable moment was when I used the curl defining cream.  It is non-sticky and extremely hydrating which will be great for use during the winter.  I did notice some shrinkage but that was ok – I really liked how moisturized my hair felt.  Lastly, the nourish & shine was a hit.  I was a little nervous with the texture of it but it totally lived up to it’s name.  The cool thing about that product is you can use it on your skin as well!  It will be a staple that I carry in my purse daily to tackle my ashiness and handle my rizos.

Thanks Jane Carter Solution!

Hugs,

Mel

Could you let me know your pre poo process (how long do you keep the products on your hair and is it a mixture of the two)? Love your hair, especially the volume. Trying to get my volume back.

Thank you!! I pre poo with Jamaican black castor oil under the two shower caps for at least two hours. I used the mixture this time because I was low on the castor oil 🙂 I have always had a lot of volume but it is significant due to this cut. I hope this helps!!

I'm new to wearing my hair curly, can you tell me what your steamer method is? Where do you buy the ecostyler gel? I tried both cvs and bed bath and beyond and neither had it. I ended up buying Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie instead, do you find that comparable?

  4. RockYoRizos says:

I try to use my Huetiful steamer during my wash day. Its already preset to 20 minutes so that's a plus. I actually buy my Ecostyler gel at CVS but you can also find it online. Shea Moisture curl enhancing smoothie is not comparable since its more of a pomade not a gel.

Love your curls! How do you keep your – as you say – dirty pelo, looking so good?

Thank You! Well one thing I like to do is put some oil (preferably argan oil) at night on my ends before I go to sleep but besides that, nothing! I just try not to hug folks after day 4 because my hair can get a little stinky x-)
